Navy Summer Dream

YAY!!! I am home...and I am so excited to be able to get back to my neurotic schedule of work, working out, eating lots of spinach, and playing with my puppies. Before I dive into this outfit and photo shoot, I have to say I had soooo much fun in Alaska and so thankful for husband and family for showing me such a great time! I have more pics coming soon from the trip! Ok, now let's discuss this skirt from Walmart...yep...I know I know..there are many people who are against Walmart...and that is fine..I am NOT one of those people. I Love my Costco...and I love my Walmart...and this George brand....well George whoever you are...yo make some cute stuff...and if I had told everyone I got it at Anthropologie for $89 they would believe me. So thank you George for disguising this $5 skirt!

I wasn't here for the weird weather but before I left we found this amazing tree and location that totally didn't look like Vegas at all. I had soo much fun and it seems like it is just getting better! I only started outfit posts this year in January and my whole life has transformed one color at a time. I can't believe that I almost have a 100 followers...even if it is my husband and my best friends :O) I never did this with the intent of getting followers, as a matter of fact I never even used to tell people about this blog..I would just write...and press send with that feeling that you got your thoughts out without judgement. So THANK YOU ...I am thinking to celebrate my almost 100 followers I would give a special bloggie friend a gift certificate...I will have to think about that one...but untill then, have a wonderful Tuesday, and a wonderful time enjoying what is left of the coolness..or at least for us...NOT SWEATING everyday..some may be sad it is cold but I can't wait for summer..it's the best feeling...so stay here cold..it only makes me happier when you leave!!!

Thrifters Anonymous Link Up!

Hi, My Name is {Your Name HERE} I am addicted to Thrifting!
Grab a button and come to a meeting!

Thrifters Anonymous

Hey everyone, I am currently sitting at the airport waiting for our plane to board. I am a little late in posting once again but I wanted to get the link up on. I know I am probably breaking the rules again by leaving the awesome thrifters who have linked up but honestly I feel like it is a club...and they are members and well some of their stuff is pretty cool and amazing, and it's not like there are a 100 so I thought I would just leave them. That doesn't mean you can't link up again!!

If you are wondering, I have a Thrifters Anonymous Wanted Link Up to the left and I am trying to decipher which one I like better..anyway, you can find my favorite Thrifter of the week there! Since I don't have a personal thrifting item today I thought I would pick my favorite link of the week, well actually of the month since I am so late....drum roll please.....

Umm, I know...she took a shirt and made it into this fantastic skirt...are you kidding me with this? This my friends, is Ms. Callie Rew of Callies Menagerie and I just love all of her ideas and that name..are you kidding me! If you go to her lovely blog she will show you exactly how to make this amazingness. I am sorry I didn't post it sooner..but I think we should all at least try this don't you? If you do try this, PLEASE send me a pic and I will show everyone...can you imagine the possibilities? Go show her some love folks..and congratulations Callie, not only are you a Thrifter but you took something and transformed it to something super chic!

Ok it is your turn folks, or the few that are actually reading this...link up your finds, creations, or just your cute self and let's get to inspiring..no rules and I promise you will all remain anonymous ;O)

Me and Mother in Beer Tent :O)

So I promise you I will be back to outfit posts and thrifty finds. Only two more days here in Alaska and today was Race day! The pictures above are the crazy people doing jumps and flips off the side of a cliff...it was amazing to watch, these guys are fearless! Later we ventured into the beer tent where most were pretty plastered and dancing to an old lady who looked like Patsy Cline singing Fergie...haha it was very entertaining to say the least. Did I mention that my body feels like someone beat me with a baseball bat while I was sleeping? My thum is numb from pressing the gas, and when over 10,000 people are riding the same trail the bumps are ridiculous. So my back and knees are pretty much shot. I guess now I don't feel so bad for not working out! hope you enjoy some of these picture there are more to come!

To non-outfit posts..at least the pics are entertaining right? Night!

Well, one thing I learned is that no one cares about fashion when its 20 degrees...but I thought I would at least add some color to the mix! haha and what a perfect excuse to wear my sweater, dont' get to do that very often. Oh, and while I know I am new to this whole thing...ummm these boots are amazing...going 50 mph on hills and not one time were my feet cold....I wish I could describe how amazing it is up here...but I will just have to keep uploading pics. Some of these riders had Mohawks, and some had wigs on. Only a hand full of females out here so I was really trying to fit in. Husband's outfit is not as impressive...especially the thing on his head, his sunglasses pretty much saved him. I also learned that if you have your hair out for too long it will start to break..what? ughh...I really have enjoyed myself but I think I am ready for my bikini now.

Thank you to all who have been watching this ridiculousness. I promise I will have a much cuter outfit by Tuesday...PROMISE!...oh and I have not been a very good blogger friend either...mainly cuz everytime I try to respond to someone my laptop times out and crashes! Anyway, what I am trying to say is I am sorry, and I can't wait to visit everyone and check out their amazing outfits...that probably don't involve snow pants :O)

Happy Saturday!

Who's scared of a little snow mobile? NOT ME!

DSC03939
Husband and I training for the ride to the races, and so I will stop whining!

DSC03947
I mean really, you want me to drive in an arabesque...ummm OK
DSC03951
This is not to be tried at home :O)

Ok, I might have exaggerated just little bit...I wasn't exactly that calm about this whole situation. See, I was and still kinda am, completely terrified of this snow mobile. But this is what husband and family do...they snow machine..that's what they call it. Anyway, I have been freaking out for about a week now dreading this moment where I will have to gear up and get on this thing. Every year for about 26 years, Alaska holds what is called Arctic Man. Basically a bunch of crazy's people get together in campers and tents...and race, watch races, and drink. One of husbands good friend is racing. Anyway, the race is held about 43 miles from the cabin in Paxon along the transatlantic pipeline. yeah, I know...haha I didn't know what any of this was...So, long story short..take a wild guess as to how we are supposed to get to these races? go ahead...guess...if you guessed those ridiculous machines that ride on snow..than you are correct!

Well, I will have you know that I am writing this blog only a few hours AFTER we have gotten home, no broken limbs or emergency saving here! I did it!!! and well, don't tell husband...but I kinda loved it...I mean, the lesson here is, everyone needs someone to push them, even if they are kicking and screaming, cuz if husband didn't I would have missed one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life!

Thank you to husband for getting me familiar with the machine and the snow and parents for guiding and making me feel safe. I must say, beating your fears into the snow packed mountains feels pretty darn good. I was only able to get these pics up now, but I promise I will keep working on uploading more. hope you are having a wonderful Friday wherever you are at, and remember, sometimes your fears are someone else's dreams..and good time!

Sneak Peek into Navy Summer Dream, and My Favorite Shoulder Show Off Tops

DSC03868

Ok, so I really have been trying to upload these pictures, so far I have 2. Yep...and I loved this last photo shoot we did...I mean LOVED. Yes, this is Vegas by the way...I am getting really excited for tanks, and skirts, and warm weather...and while sitting in the cabin looking at the snow outside, all I can think of is summer. So here is a sneak peek into our photo shoot! I have also been doing some exercises for my shoulders since I have a lot of tanks to wear this summer. Oh and here are some of my favorite tops to show off all of those push ups, tricep exercises and shoulder tracks!

Showing Off Your Shoulders
3 of my favorite tops perfect for summer shoulder showin...

1. The Halter: This top is actually better for smaller busts as it has a tendency to draw attention to your goods...and if you have a lot of goods, it may draw too much attention..you catch my drift... This is a romper that I have a crush on from Modcloth...loving the look of the halter in this vintage inspired cuteness...it will also make your neck look all dressed up...no necklace required!

2. The Racer back: I am a Vegas girl, and this is my kind of tank. It makes a casual tank top somewhat dressy, and boy do my shoulders look amazing in this one, if I do say so myself. The racer back really draws attention to your back and shoulder blades...and I promise when I get back I will show you some of the exercises we have been doing to get here. I know I keep saying it, probably since I started this blog..but do you know how hard it is to take those pictures...well if you didn't...I am here to tell you that it is hard. Those models make it look so easy with their "this is how you do lunges" pictures...haha anyway, the racer back..Love it! I really love this one by Modcloth...I like the name too..the Revolving restaurant top...I love the cropped ruffles and lace on the top..loving cropped anything...I will show you some of our ab exercises we have been doing also..since cropped tops are coming..I better stop eating cheez its and get to it!!

3. The Embellished or Cutout: I am a big fan of anything that is weird, different, or unusual. I love tanks that are cut out at the top, it draws attentions to your arms and shoulders and complements your collar bone. I especially love this one, so cute! I think this would would look super sexy tucked into a long skirt, or even lace shorts maybe...

The Wide Sleeves: SECRET to skinny arms....so aside from doing numerous exercises and eating right, sometimes those tops with the buttons around your bicep seem like they are gong to rip open like incredible hulk...or if you are like me sometimes you can't even close it...If I am having a "huge bicep" day.. (that is what I call it instead of "my arms are fat day" I wear a shirt like this one below...

The wide sleeves are big enough for your biceps and make your arms look super tiny and toned :O) Oh and I also like anything cut out on the back as well.

Ok, I am off to download more pictures...hope this was helpful...this is what I am thinking about now...haha

Take Care...maybe I will have 3 photos downloaded by midnight!

Greetings from Alaska

Well, I have a really good excuse as to why I have not posted anything in two days...take a look...

DSC03923

So am I forgiven? haha I really have been trying to upload pics, but unfortunately the Internet is having a hard time reaching the end of the earth...hahaha It is beautiful though..I must say...

DSC03917

We have been relaxing, eating, relaxing some more. I find it hard to do this "relaxing" thing, but I am glad I have the opportunity to do so. My husbands family have been really great and I am thankful to be up here. I will let you know if I survive the snowmobiling extravaganza we will be partaking in tomorrow. Maybe I can get an outfit post in as well. It is only 30 degrees, that is 50 degrees warmer than when I was here last time. Ok, I am off to watch Bride Wars and eat some more...haha

Coral for Spring, To April

hugs to the sun

That is me kissing the sun and everyone who I haven't been able to spend time with cuz I have waaay too many things in the day taking up my TIME!!! Most hate summers in Vegas, I on the other hand love it. I NEED the sun....I NEED the heat...I also have like 200 dresses in my closet ready to see the outdoors! This is one of my favorite Betsy's (Betsy Johnson) and I got it about 3 years ago. As I was watching E, like I do everyday, I saw that one of the colors for this spring was Coral. That's the thing about holding on to stuff sometimes, before you know it, it will be in style again...I say give it 3 years...if it has been longer toss it. But if it is a piece you like yourself in, put it away and wait for Ryan Seacrest to tell you it is hot again!

I am looking forward to April...March was rather discouraging so I am being optimistic and positive. While I am sure every second of the day will be filled with something, I plan on spending much needed time with friends, their new bundle of joys ( for some multiple ;0), family...and most importantly husband....I might also start taking baths...does anyone out there make time for baths? Photographer Extraordinaire is always telling me to make time for baths. But sometimes I feel like Maranda on Sex in the City....I mean...in the time I spend taking a bath I could have already, blogged, done laundry, done at least 25 push ups/super sets, cleaned out the litter box, made dinner, and gave the pups a bath...then again...it would be nice to just sit and do nothing...hmmmm

Happy Monday!

Does anyone else feel like time is just flying by? I just can't seem to get a hold of my time! How do you have kids, a career, a great body, a stylish wardrobe, a clean house, a good time, a blog, pets...I mean..I could keep going...but this is ridiculous! I mean I was never one to think I needed a maid but I just can't do it all! THERE! I admit it! something has GOT to GIVE! I'm afraid my laundry, my toes, and uploading pictures is what has been neglected this week...oh and husband...I promise I will try to do better next week...maybe things will get easier? anyone?

Well, let's move on to my outfit. As you can see I am in business attire as I have had several meetings, but I just fell in love with this Calvin Klein Jacket...the lines are amazing..and the pleating in the back makes me smile. Not sure if you can see the small velvet pieces but they are there. I'm also loving the look of stripes and florals. I keep seeing it in different forms, so I am trying it out. I think the trick is making sure you have a color in your stripes and florals that match..once you do...it just goes perfectly! and it makes you look like your waist is super tiny...can't beat that.

Ok, well I will give you a double dose of outfit posts this weekend since I missed yesterday! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, I will be trying to catch up and visit all of you!
