So I feel like this year is moving faster than I would like...I know everyone told me that when you turn 30 things just seem to be a blur...and so far..they are right. July is almost here and it will have been 4 years since my mom passed away. I normally don't bring up too many personal things on this blog of thrifitng and fashion..but my heart is filled today and I am actually so excited about tonight.

Tonight we are having a small mixer filled with close friends, family, and some of the recipients of the Yaffa Dahan Nursing Education Dissertation Scholarship. Every year we have raised close to $5,000 for the fund and so far 5 PhD students have been awarded the scholarship!!! We are so excited...it is so different when you see and meet the individuals who have benefited from everyone's support! Anyway,I  think I haven't really been talking about it because when I do, I find myself getting all sad and anxious...and then I want to pick up the phone and call my mom to tell her how awesome she is and how there are so many supporters across the world giving to this fund. but I can't so I write in this blog once again hoping she sees...anyway, here is part of the small flyer we wrote and just a little insight into who she was and how this helps!

~Yaffa Dahan Nursing Education Fund ~
In Memory of Yaffa Dahan
Yaffa Dahan was born on December 29, 1954 was raised in a small town in Israel. After marrying David Dahan in Israel at age 20, Yaffa moved to Las Vegas to start a family and a new life. Dedicated to education, Yaffa was ambitious in pursuing educational opportunities and a career in nursing. Her educational journeys lead her to earn an MBA in Business Management and a PhD in Administrative Healthcare. She became a registered nurse, which she practiced for more than 28 years. She was a member of the Honors Society in Nursing at UNLV, and was honored as an outstanding alumna. She was a wonderful, dedicated spirit who touched all those who crossed her path. In honor of her memory, the Yaffa Dahan Nursing Education Fund was established in 2007 at UNLV to assist outstanding PhD nursing students in their dissertation research.
The Students
Since the establishment of the fund, doctoral students have benefited each year from the Yaffa Dahan Nursing Dissertation Award. This award in the amount of $1,000 assists students with the resources they need to complete their research. To be considered for the award, students must be in good standing in the UNLV School of Nursing PhD Program, have completed the comprehensive examination and must have a dissertation approved by a dissertation committee. Past recipients of this award include:
Yaffa Dahan Nursing Education Fund Recipients
Anne Diaz, PhD, RN, CNRN 2007-2008
Jennifer Richards, PhD, RN, CNRN 2008-2009

Ok, before you start making a face and talking crap...I know you are...I see you..don't judge...so obviously I wasn't going to Britney Spears to hear her sing her hit ballad "I'm not a girl, not yet a women" but let's face it...her music is kinda good...I know everyone has their opinion on Britney Spears..usually it is a negative one...but I love music...ALL MUSIC...and when I heard Britney and Nikki Minaj were in concert..TOGETHER...I knew I had to go..so we did...over the weekend, and we had sooo much fun. Between the women dressed like hookers, and the men dressed like women...it was an entertaining evening. Photographer Extraordinaire and I ventured through the streets taking pics and we stumbled upon a few fun locations. I forced her to ride the roller coaster with me after the show...haha this was after I put a $20 bill in the change machine....haha all I know is I woke up and I had a purse full of quarters?? haha oh, and I smelled like pizza...we stopped for a slice of freshly baked pizza...aside from my lactose intolerance it was some delicious pizza.

Ok, on to my favorite find of the year...or at least one of them..this Jumper..I found it with Sarah on this weeks Thrifters Anonymous Link up here...It was $3 at Savers, and I have decided that I love jumpers...I really just didn't think I could wear something like this...but I did....it's part of my 30x30...not sure how I'm gonna make this happen, but I had to wear it...anyway

...if you missed the Thrifters Anonymous Link up yesterday you MUST check it out...haha It was a special edition where I featured one of my newest obsessions and best friends..she found some awesome finds...and the last outfit is a doozie...yeah I said doozie...haha We wanted her to get it so she could wear it for Halloween, and when people asked her what she was she would just say "What am I not?" haha ok now you gotta see what I'm talking about to understand..

One of these things doesn't belong here, one of these things is not like the other...ummmm

You guessed it...it's these guys...we found them posing in this corner and we just had to take pics...they were the best dressed in the whole place and could pose better than any fashion blogger I have seen...I think his boots are Steve Madden and he totally had the OPI Crackle polish on...so freaking cute!

The first stop was the Thrift Store I had never been too..kinda scary neighborhood but some pretty awesome finds...then we headed off to SAVERS for Sarah's first time...haha

Item #1 that I found was a onesie jumpsuit...Sarah looked at me like I had just asked her to run around naked, which after seeing what I had found her she would have rather done...UNTIL I yelled at her and forced her to try it on...umm it fit her like a glove...and she looked so sexy...and this was OVER her clothes!
Jump Suit $5
 Thrifted $5

Item #2 was a Vintage Dress...a true "Oskie Woskie." This Dress from SAVERS was my favorite item I found for her...ABSOLUTELY Stunning...she looked like she came straight from Sex in the City...it fit her perfectly...I can't wait for her to wear it!
