SMILE Brilliant: Let's talk about my teeth PHASE 1 & Phase 2

So...I have never really been one to cheese it up...you know what I mean...SMILE so big you can see ALL your teeth. I NEVER had braces...and I never felt confident enough to really show them to the world. Only a couple years back did I really start to notice that they were not so white. I had chipped my front tooth until the dentist managed to even it out...with purcheses of crest white strips and toothpastes of all kinds I was content with my mouth I guess...until recently when the dentist asked....man your front teeth are so white but the ones in the back...not so much...haha I was like...ummmm crest white strips don't go back that far haha not but a week later did Smile Brilliant contact me to try out their teeth whitening trays for them. I don't do a lot of reviews...number one I just don't have the time and number two I have to really believe I love something to tell you guys about it...i.e. Marshalls haha 

Anyway, the trays arrived with all of the instructions and another set to give to a friend...well you know who I called!!! that's right...P.E. I have been vlogging our journey with these things but stay tuned for that in the next week. 

So when you first get the kit you get the following:

• Impression Material to make your own dental impressions. They sent extra THANK GOD...cuz I have to do it 3 times. Edwina only did it once...apparently the SIMPLE instructions were too difficult I was so nervous I would screw up I DID! haha you'll see in the video
• Pre-paid postage with an envelope so you can mail back your impressions...this part was super easy and I literally got everything back in 3 days!
• They send you back your custom dental mold and it fit perfectly
• I also got the professional whitening gel they came in syringes as you see in the picture.
• Most importantly and I do not believe this comes in the kit but is not expensive at all is the desensitizing gel for sensitive teeth. I would recommend even if your teeth are not sensitive! I believe they are like $20 and with my discount code Colorblind you get an additional 10%off which is awesome.

PHASE 2

ME SMILING! haha and showing my teeth...

SOOOO....I have gotten tons of questions about my Smile Brilliant experience and how it was going so I thought I would update you guys! You can check out PHASE 1 HERE 

About 4 weeks ago I did my first round of treatments I like to call it. I pulled out the instructions that came with my set....

 I learned my lesson the first round....and decided that the Desensitizing gel is a necessity..I didn't think my teeth were that sensitive...but they were....it was easy to use..

 My trays fit perfectly....

 All you have to do is basically twist off the small plastic topper on the syringe and you now can pump it into the trays..

 At first I pressed it too hard and a big blob came out...then I don't think I used enough during my first treatment so I ended up adding more...the key is to only really fill each tooth cavity portion with a dot...ok a little more than a dot...and try to keep it towards the front of the tooth since you really don't need to whiten the back of your teeth. Don't worry if you have enough..I realized that after one try you can kind of figure it out depending on how much spillage you get...

 Put the trays in your mouth and try not to wiggle it...just put it right in...some of the whitening gel will seep out just use a tissue to clean it...My advice would be to keep the desensitizing gel in for 1 hour and the whitening in for 1 hour.

I promise...I will get better at these pictures...Next time I will have my hubby take them...but FINALLY...the side of my mouth is starting to match the front of my mouth! haha and no sensitivity.... I will follow up with you guys. I officially went through one syringe and I am on to the next one...the compliments are starting to come too...love white teeth...who knew mine weren't so white!

Taking Stock...Thanksgiving Style

Making : my home warm and inviting for our whole family...furry and all to enjoy together. THANKSGIVING is an all night affair at the Dahan-Kilbourn's Casa.
Cooking : Turkeys and Turnips. We host a potluck at our home on Saturday the week of Thanksgiving where everyone brings their specialty. My dad makes the BEST gravy in town, and my aunt wins for crusty stuffing with pecans...I make a carrot and turnip treat that is infused with maple syrup and turkey bacon...while I won't get it to try it this year...it will still be amazing.
Drinking : Lots of tea...our family is Morroccan and tea is like bread to Americans...you gotta have a cup.
Reading: Nothing. ABSOLUTELY nothing. With Sampson being sick and work being ridiculous, I have barely had time to sleep...any book recommendations? Would love to get into something soon.
Wanting: to spend as much time laughing and sharing stories with my family this Saturday. I look forward to nothing more.
Looking: to finally make each room in our home complete. I have been on a mission to make this place more like home and add personal touches a long the way.
Playing: lots of games all night Saturday while roasting marshmellows and wearing parkas in the Vegas cold...it gets to about 20 degrees with wind Thanksgiving week believe it or not. 
Wasting: time cuddling with our labs when we should be doing something else. Really appreciating the time and knowing it won't last forever.
Sewing: new pillows and possibly redoing a few chairs for our living room
Wishing: my mom and papa were here...man they loved this holiday...also wish Debbie my dad's girlfriend was here...she lights up the room and always makes me feel so good...she also appreciates my carrot and turnip dish ;O)
Enjoying: the random conversations of my dreams in this life with my hubby. Just last night I told him I wanted to be a stylist and Bikini Pro and hold retreats here in Las Vegas for thrifting...he smiled and said " Let's do it" THAT is what a partner is...who knows...sometimes your wacky dreams come true...
Waiting: for good news from the vet...to tell us that our baby boy is in the clear...
Liking: everything mid century modern and black and white all over...
Wondering: if I will do well in the my next competition and if all this hard work is paying off..
Loving: that when Sampson looks at me..I know exactly what he wants...maybe I'm ready to be a momma?
Hoping: that everything will work out as it should...I often question if I am on the right path or not.
Marvelling: how life has it's way of sneaking up on you and slapping you in the face...reminding us that this is IT...so make it worth it..
Needing: SLEEP. I have managed to get all of 12 hours of sleep in 5 days...
Smelling: Gingerbread coffee...I got some at Trader Joes last week and I have been making it every morning.
Wearing: my workout clothes and lipstick...all day..every day...Maybe I should start designing some...haha
Following: my meal plan 110% all through Thanksgiving and Channukah. It isn't going to be easy...but I will do it... 
Noticing: a change in my body and being proud of myself everyday...that was harder to say than I thought.
Knowing: everything happens for a reason...even when you don't discover the reason...EVER..
Thinking: about Saturday...and all the cleaning I have to get done!
Feeling: refreshed after sleeping for longer than 4 hours last night and not having to work today!
Bookmarking: rugs, curtains, and color schemes for our home
Opening: my Smile Brilliant Trays to start whitening my teeth. These things are amazing!
Giggling: ummm I don't giggle...
Feeling: content and calm...

I often want to write about things but never get to it....but this was awesome and fun to write...Thank you to Pip for starting this I loved writing it...you guys should try it too...

So there are times when I see something that I get excited about...times where I will think of an outfit as quarky as it is and think... HEY...that would be fun to wear on a date night? Thanks to Marshalls...I always seem to find exactly what I need...and when I say EXACTLY...I mean ...basically anything in the store....haha you know what I mean...anyway...last weekend I pulled this slightly too short...almost too cold to wear...super sexy...striped circle skirt dress out of my closet I had just got at Marshalls...I dolled it up with my latest "I'm about 2 years too late to the stockings train" stockings out and put on some lipstick...I didn't manage to wash my hair..but let's face it...I'm exhausted and it had been one heck of a week...our lab had ate some of my moisturizer and lip butter but it wasn't anything un commom...he EATS EVERYTHING.. a little throw up...nothing to worry about this date night was gonna happen..and thanks to Marshalls.. they sent me a gift card to a restaurant of my choice...being that I am in competition prep and eating anywhere is basically not gonna happen I chose Greens & Proteins...you will see more about that place when we ACTUALLY go there....

see....after these pics were snapped and the sun was going down...I went back in to grab my purse when I noticed Sampson had vomited again...and this time...I knew it wasn't normal...something was wrong...and I looked at my hubby and told him we needed to go to the emergency room...he wasn't totally thrilled but knew we needed to do it.

3 hours later and an X-ray and IV...Sampson's Intestines were scrunched together and the vet that was on call told us we needed to keep him overnight..Without totally destroying your breakfast I will make this short and sweet and follow up with how he is doing in another post.

SAMPSON...our baby boy was taken to his vet on Monday morning only to be rushed into surgery and cut open 7 times to discover he had not only eaten my moisturizer...the whole bottle...a stick....some random plastic....but FLOSS....a WHOLE FREAKING CONTAINER of FLOSS. The floss had made its way down his intestines and attached to all the plastic twisting and turning...The Siena Animal Hospital saved his life...and 5 days later...Sampson is home....there are still some concerns...but...that my friends...was my date night...so needless to say...I WILL be planning another date with my hubby....and maybe this time we will make it a weekend...Recently I picked up the sexiest pair of Stuart Weizman boots thanks to Marshalls, for 75% off....and a few other pieces...and we WILL be going to Greens & Proteins.
