Happy Birthday to Me & My Dad: Take 1

So my birthday week was packed and the actual day of my birthday we went to Brio where you can get a free meal! I know...and since I share a birthday with my dad we thought we would take advantage! Also, they have a new menu which features some eat clean meals..I was impressed...and as you can see from the pictures I was also exhausted...the night didn't last long but it is always fun to celebrate on the actual day.

 

My sister went nutso for me and my dad...she got him Le Creuset cook ware...he was excited as you can tell?...

Debbie got me a new pair of Addidas that we will go pick out together and this card from Papryus...I love this company...

 

They brought out candles and sang...i didn't partake in the dessert...but don't worry...I partook in plenty on Saturday!  

My sister always gets me organized and I just lover her presents. She got me this travel and everyday make up and everything else bag...LOVE 

She also got me this Michael Kors wallet..can't wait to use it...

Saturday morning one of my best friends picked me up for a morning of fitness at one of the most amazing gyms I have ever been to....seriously...it's like a museum for gyms..I was trying to sneak pics everywhere!

 

Spin was our first stop...there is a room dedicated to spin which is awesome...the bikes are digital...we were a little late and I laughed cuz we couldn't figure out how to get the bike adjusted...then my big ole tennis shoes didn't quite fit in the slots so it was hilarious.

 

About 15 minutes after the class, we went over to another room and did a strength training class...funny how you can lift weights and work out everyday but be challenged by something new...it's always nice to change things up.  

We were laughing because our stuff was everywhere...you could tell we were new..and yes we used all of this stuff..

We then took a tour and I found these machines..I have NEVER seen a dead lift or lunge machine? haha this place is ridiculous!

 

YES, you are looking at this correctly...we are still at the gym...there is a freaking water park and pool and lounge outside...I know...

  

We then went over to the cafe which looks like Whole Foods...took us like 20 minutes to figure out what to eat....

 

The food was awesome...and it was so nice to just chat and hang out! I miss my friend!

 

We had an incredible workout and a great morning! I will share part two tomorrow! Lot's of sequins and hats :O)

 So this past weekend was my birthday party shared with my dad...and it was amazing...I was surrounded by some of my best friends, family, and it was perfect...all my girls came out in their best sequins...hats...and they looked amazing...Pictures to come! haha I still haven't even looked at them...haha hope they turned out! Anyway...the other night after a workout I stopped into Savers since it was next door to my dance rehearsal...I found this Lord & Taylor Sequin dress, this purple hat, and this adorable vintage mini robe thing...I tried everything on..took pictures...and left....with NOTHING...I didn't really need another hat and I have now 3 sequin dresses...this one was cute but not necessary...I would like to say that I resisted the urge...I am really trying to be picky and ONLY come home with FINDS..but as all of you know..being the addicts we are...EVERYTHING is a find...haha anyway here is what I found..and left ;O)

While I was freezing my butt off in Park City for Sundance, I was absolutely loving the snow...not much snow in Vegas...we took tons of pics and as I have mentioned before I was excited to dress up again...put on lipstick...put on jewelry. I feel like I go through phases of Wanting to get ready. Oh and speaking of butts...how my hubby managed to get our puppies butts in every single shot is beyond me...so I apologize...for all of the butts..But here I am...WEARING clothes! and I have to be honest..I bought these jeans at Target some time ago...at first I was like...ummm flowers....lots of flowers...then when I saw that they were only $10 I was like..hmmm that's a pretty good deal...I could make these cute...then they just sat in my closet for like 2 months...Do you guys do that? I always feel like vacation is when you should bust those things out...like I am forced to wear it because that is all I brought..It's a good strategy folks...try it sometime...anyway..I ended up really liking them..so you will see them a lot...I have gotten quite a few printed denim and I am going to see how it goes.

Well...as you can imagine...this is not Vegas...the hubby took outfit pics everyday while we were at Sundance!! I was so excited to get ready everyday! I just don't have time when we are at home...I mean I get dressed I just don't have time for pictures that is....thus the lack of outfit posts...If only P.E. was in my pocket ;O) anyway...don't let the boots fool you...I barely made it out of the house without busting my lip in these on the snow...they are definitely Vegas Booties...but nonetheless one of my favorite pairs of Seychelles...and I have a few...and do you guys remember this blazer and this shirt? I found them at Savers a couple of weeks ago and I was so excited..they were about $3 a piece...I normally don't go for red...but this necklace has inspired me to wear a little more red...it also inspired me to wear it all weekend...you shall see...

THANK YOU guys for your words, and all of your emails...I love blogging..I love sharing anything and everything and sometimes I don't think anyone is really reading...but I never really care either way...it definitely feels good to know that I am not crazy and that you guys feel the same way. So thank you...birthday dinner last night rocked...I ate a nice clean meal at Brio...and celebrated with my dad...the hubby surprised me with the cutest pair of pj's with little monkeys on it from Marshalls, a brand new set of blue Tupperware ..the good kind, a camera case, and a new charger for my car....he really knows his way to my heart...I MEAN I LOVE Tupperware!!! haha I also got the most amazing wallet from my sister and a new make up travel case and small bags...I LOVE BAGS...haha I will share some pics on Instagram tomorrow...this wallet is gorgeous...I also got a new pair of Adidas from my dad's girlfriend...she is so sweet...and always takes me to Adidas for a new pair of shoes..anyway...thank you again for all of the birthday wishes...I think I need to take more vacations ;O)

Moment of Clarity

Well. Today was the day I was born...you know..my birthday. Usually I am anticipating this day and planning and talking about it..but for some reason it just came...and then I was like...ummm crap...I was born on my dad's birthday too...and even he was calling me to see what I was doing. If it weren't for my friends I probably would have done a whole lot of nothing. Don't get me wrong.I am SOOO happy...and totally not upset about getting a year older...actually..these 3 years in my 30's have been the best of my life. But then I did something this morning that I hadn't done in a while...I reached for my cell phone... to call my mom...yep...I did it...I FULL on grabbed it and began dialing a number which I apparently haven't forgotten...I burst into tears and got really upset. DING. Light bulb...Is that why I have not been excited? Funny...usually when things are bad you think about those you miss...but lately...things are fabulous and I miss my mom most. I want to tell her about all the dreams that have come true and the planning...planning of a life that I am so happy to have...These pictures were taken on a road to Park City, Utah this past weekend for Sundance...the hubby and I and our two labs packed the car and went on a road trip...aside from the 45 hour drive haha and the freezing cold...we had such an amazing time...we talked...we laughed..we ate...and we took the best 2 hour nap of my life...see when you turn 30 naps are like totally awesome and really do help you press the recharge button...anyway...I was relaxed and happy all weekend...on the drive home I got sad again and I'm not sure why...again...life is awesome...why the heck am I sad...I was starting to feel ungrateful and angry that I was so sad...THEN I was angry and sad and guilty...THEN the hubby wanted to talk about life...and kids...and when we were starting a family...and then I got REALLY ANGRY...LIKE SO ANGRY I wanted to jump out of the car. Do you guys get like this or is it just my crazy butt... I was ANXIOUS, ANGRY, SAD...crap...I was even HUNGRY....I quickly closed my eyes and took another nap on the drive to hopefully get over this insane allergic reaction to happiness..."OH LOOK SHANA Everything is going awesome and you are a GRUMP. that is...until this morning...when I finally realized that I was just feeling a moment of clarity...that moment when you see things...for what they are...and realize that life passes us by and sometimes we don't take a minute to just be with things....maybe that's why all my emotions got the best of me...maybe I don't allow myself to really just be with things...ughh who knows...sorry for the rambling...I really didn't know what to say but thought...well it's my birthday I better post something...ahh well...Thank you to all of you who have been so supportive over the past year...it is because of you that I have stepped out of my own way and really gone for the things I dream of...the things I long for....and I thank you for being a friend even if it is across a computer...Happy Birthday to my father who I was so rude to on the phone this morning... because all I wanted to do was tell him I love him and that I am honored to share this day with him...hopefully I will get out of this MOOD and get on with my day...until then I will cry if I want to...cuz it's my party...
