The sun is out of control. We tried to take pictures and this is what we got...still learning about lighting and lenses this SUN is not helping..haha I was also sweating...I see everyone getting ready for Fall including me in my last thirfting trip sadly stuffing all of the jackets and sweaters in the back of the closet knowing I won't see them for at least a couple of months...At least I can try and wear all of the things I didn't get to wear. I have so many dresses that I just don't wear because of work...so I am determined to wear them ALL. I love this one in particular...made me feel very sweet and girly...you know...cuz I'm not sweet or girly...haha I realized how that sounded after I said it. I also love these wedges I got at Marshalls. I was never a wedge girl..and now...that is all I want to wear...maybe it's cuz my feet hurt all of the time...I am also in the market for some wedge boots...ok that is my rant for the day. Thank you to all for your messages and comments about our short film! we have submitted to more festivals so I am excited!! See you tomorrow...in a dress...that I haven't worn.... 

P.S. Praying for those who are or will be affected by the ridiculous storm that is coming...I am always thankful for our weather even when the heat it too much to take...

Action on Film Festival to LA and back

So, as most of you know...or those who follow me, you know that this past weekend the hubby and I ventured off to LA for the Action on Film Festival in Arcadia California. Our short film Action!Action! was nominated for 4 awards and we couldn't have been more excited to be a part of this tradition...

We drove there and made a few stops along the way. Road trips are great...especially since we are so busy and this was the most time we had actually spent together haha A pit stop to the Mad Greek for some strong coffee and Baklava...as we approached the Santa Anita Race Track, the hubby realized that he had forgotten his shoes...SEARCHING for a Marshalls...we ended up at the long distant cousin..Ross...no disrespect...but Marshall's is where it's at in case you were looking for shoes haha anyway...he ended up finding a pair and we were on our way...

We were super early to arrive at the race track so we took some pics and began watching everyone arrive. From gowns to shorts there was a serious mixture, but that's what I loved about this group...lots of unknown talent waiting to be discovered...haha or maybe it was more like WE were waiting to be discovered...perhaps we were the only unkown...anyway we went to the bar where I allowed myself a glass of wine...and after 3 sips I was feeling good and ready to head over to the red carpet for pictures.

We stepped out on the red carpet and before we knew it we were done...then I had realized that I never actually saw the photographer snap any pics with his camera...WAIT...what happened? I later found out my hubby handed my $80 Sony Cybershot to the photographer..haha I was upset for about 5 seconds...and then we began to walk around...I spotted a dress similar to mine and pointed out to my husband...We quickly made friends with this group and began to stand in line to get some pics with the professional...after standing in line for 20 minutes we realized that Tom Sizemore had officially cut us and they had stopped taking pictures...yeah...haha whatever...were all too happy to have met the group we did and sat down with them at the Winners Circle at the race track...dinner and awards...we had such an amazing time...

While we didn't win any awards we did get a runner up announcement for Best Martial Arts Sequence in a short...pretty awesome considering I had no martial arts training prior...with over 250 shorts submitted..we were among the top 6...and hearing my name announced for Best Break Out Action Star in a short in the same sentence...was pretty freaking awesome...the girl that one my category was on an episode of 90210...haha and I recognized her...cuz I am officially the biggest fan of the show...and for all of you youngins..I am talking David Silver, Brenda Walsh 90210...haha we left the track and headed to my friends house where we were so thankful to stay...Officially the coolest thing we have done to date...and as I told my hubby after all was said and done...as long as you put yourself out there and go after what you want....you will never know if you can be who you always wanted to be...no matter how old you are...or where you are in the world...on to the next chapter!

While in LA for our short film premiere we made a little stop...after I begged my hubby...we stopped at the Goodwill in cucamonga...nice and clean...this Goodwill had the nicest jeans I had ever seen...unfortunately none fit me the way I wanted...I did leave with the dress below...loved it...I think it was from Hawaii...and it was old...I have wanted a kimono style dress and this one was perfect for a transition to Fall...my hubby ended up with 3 shirts!!! He was excited...cuz he usually doesn't find anything...they were brand new...still with the tag...good stuff...

 I was trying to figure out how I could work this number in my wardrobe...but I passed...

 and my love for Samsonite suitcases continues..I didn't get it..but man..I just want ALL of them...

Lately I have been struggling with this "feeling sexy" situation...I recently became the Hauteshots Boudoir photography Spokesmodel...not really feeling like I deserved it..like I wasn't sexy just yet...but if I worked hard enough I could be that vision that I had in my head....I dived right in...and began my journey to get fit...even reaching a level where I felt I was ready to be "sexy" I still found myself dissecting my body and everything around it....I am working with an amazing photographer...and recently we took some impromptu pics...They are great pics...yet I still found myself picking myself apart...I just went through a major change in my body during my competition, which I will post I promise, and I just see myself in such a weird way...anyway...I had grabbed a few pieces for the shoot since it was last minute and arrived at the suite...As you can see I am wearing...YES...the Old Navy T-shirt...but honestly...I felt comfortable...and sexy in this stupid shirt... and while my hubby loved the other pics that were definitely a little more "fancy" I realized that this is more me...I have never been one to reveal a whole lot of skin...I know..Ironic...but I think I was honored with this position for a reason...Even at my most fit..I don't know if I really saw me...I only saw what I didn't like...or what didn't look PERFECT...thus feeling disappointed and somewhat defeated...I hate that I feel this way....I am so grateful for everything I have and I work hard for it...I was talking to my friend last night and we were talking about how we spent most of our 20's upset with our body...and we want to spend our 30's loving it...I haven't posted pics or video from the competition because I guess I was somewhat disappointed in myself...like I had done everything and my body still didn't reach "perfection"..therefore how could I post it if I wasn't what I wanted me to be...I know..I sound ridiculous..and I am sure some of you are about ready to slap me upside my head...but I just wanted to be honest...I have been in somewhat of a standstill not really sure if I just want to give up or keep going...and then this picture was posted and I was reminded of one thing...It is ok that I am not perfect....as a matter of fact...I think that is what makes me ME...so...Week 6 will be coming up this weekend...and so will Week 7...and so forth...and so on...some of you have emailed me and left messages telling me that I have inspired you...and honestly..that is what is keeping me going...I am competitive by nature...and sometimes I forget that the real winner is the one who keeps going the minute quitting is an option...hopefully I made some sort of sense..I am rambling now  haha Have a wonderful weekend and check back for pictures from my competition, our premier of our short film...and camping extravaganza!

Sorry I have been a little MIA..we just got back from our short film premiere last night!!! It was so much fun...such an honor...and quite frankly...I now wish I had really pursued all this junk like 10 years ago...but that's life right...you don't know what you want until you realize what you want...and that usually happens 10 years after you shoulda done it...ah well...I have so many pictures to share with you guys..we also went camping last weekend..haha yeah you heard me...no tents or anything...but it was pretty rough...I mean...I didn't shower for two days AND we went fishing...haha good thing I brought my great Old Navy t-shirt...don't worry...I bought like 6 other colors so I might retire this one...I wonder if I can keep getting away with it at work...haha when my hubby saw me in this outift he went "umm are those Zebras on your skirt? hey! you wore a t-shirt to work, women get away with everything!" He is soo right..if a guy wore a t-shirt to work..haha not good...anyway more pictures...actually TONS of pictures to come...so please forgive me!
