So there is nothing more exciting than finding a true "Oskie Woskie" as my photographer extraordinaire and I call it. I mean, a true old school dress is probably one of my favorite things to find. And this is how you can make a frumpy, Pilgrim OSKIE WOSKIE...a classic Vintage stylish addition to your closet. And might I add I paid $6.99 plus 20% off for bringing donations! and the belt was $1...that's all it needed! oh and the confidence to say.."umm yeah...I know..it is old, and I love it!"

Here Comes the Sun...Little Darling...Here Comes the Sun...

Plaid

Plaid & Whiskey

Plaid
Shoes: Seychelles Nordstroms Rack, Skirt: Ann Taylor Loft, Shirt: Old Navy, Necklace: Thrifted Savers
The sun is literally coming...and yes, that is a bottle of whiskey next to me on the ground...only in Vegas do you see a bottle of booze in a residential area...lovely isn't it. I am really liking plaid right now..I have never been one to wear it, but I kept seeing everyone in something similar and when I came across it at Old Navy for $6, I thought I would give it a go. I like...I also love my Seychelles and I really need to get more of these lovely shoes. Vintage inspired details and comfort, these shoes really do describe me, I heart them...check them out!

I must also say thank you to my father, my husband, my sister, and my friends, for reminding me..that I will see the light...and not like CarolAnn in the Poltergeist...but like a revelation as to why things happen. I was sent this quote and it really hit home...

"If you think you can, you can. And if you think you can't, your're right." --Mary Kay Ash

This is soo true...and it goes for everything...I CAN'T run, or I CAN'T be happy...I finally realized that what I tell myself, is what I truly believe I can do. Imagine the possibilities when you tell yourself you can. I know, I know...sometimes we fall flat on our face...but I have noticed that more so than often amazing things happen. Anyway...to go along with my telling week, I just thought I would share some enlightenment I had, oh and this quote made my day...Thank you photographer extraordaire...

"If opportunity Doesn't knock, build a door"
--Quote.excarcade.com

Just so you know...My door has a vintage knob and will lead me to opportunity, happiness, and health. I can't wait...
Happy Wednesday!

I am loving NEON green right now and I love this top! I'm not sure husband had the same sentiment, but after I pulled it together he kinda fell in love. Oh did I mention how comfortable these BCBG wedges are? Probably one of my favorite finds at Marshalls, perfect camel color and super comfortable and perfect for spring!

Spring/Summer is coming...though..for those of you who have never been to Vegas, this time of year is the most beautiful and always reminds we why I love it here...it is a PERFECT 80 degrees with slight winds to the east..haha just kidding, I kinda sounded like a weather guy right...anyway...Friday it is going to be 98...so this beautiful weather typically last for 4 days...haha then we start to fry, and I love every bit of it! Come on Sun, melt my belongings and burn my skin!

Oh and if you were wondering how I did my hair I will have my very first tutorial...though it doesn't even need a tutorial...I think I just wanted a reason to do one haha...I also wanted to share my secret to the most complimented and easiest hairstyle, and it helps if your hair is dirty...I call it the twist and it is exactly what it seems..ya just twist it...THE END...ok maybe I won't do a tutorial...hmmm what should I do?

Happy Tuesday!

Hi there. I know. It's really late. This week has been a trying one to say the least. But I won't bore you with that...what I really wanted to share with you was one of my favorite vintage finds of the winter. This blazer was calling my name for about 2 weeks, why no one snatched it up is beyond me. I finally tried it on! It was a perfect fit. I am a size 6/8 when it comes to jackets and blazers so I knew it was my size...cuz it was in the size 6 section...except for that fact that I was WRONG! First of all it was made in Romania and was obviously 20 or 30 years old.. you could tell by the stitching and lining, but you can imagine my surprise when I saw it was a size 11/12. Actually you don't have to imagine at all, I re-created it for you above haha That's right..I just wanted to show all of you that sizes really don't matter...it's how you feel and how you look. Don't get me wrong..I work my butt off..literally...I eat right and I want to look a certain way...but I would have walked right past this if it had been in the right section, but things happen and it was in the wrong section and I am so happy it was. I am also loving the fact that I found brown, patent leather, peep toe, mary janes? Are you kidding me? And so comfy I might add!

So I thought I would include a Savers Secret in my posts where the majority of my finds are from Savers...and I am kind of excited that a new one is coming to Vegas, you can never have enough! So on to my first Savers Secret...

SAVERS SECRET: ALWAYS  look at a size below and a size above yours. cus well...ya never know! Vintage styles are way smaller than you think and the sizes are twice as big. New styles are often too big and you find yourself going to a smaller size! So there, First Savers SECRET !! Take a A SECOND LOOK  at the sizes, cuz more so than often we think we are bigger than we are. (obviously this will go for any store or thrift store...I just so happen to favor Savers)

See Savers is the most organized thrifting on earth! color coded, sizes, styles...I will have lots more posts with some tips and secrets to Savers...but I wanted to show you A. Sizes don't matter and B. You can get everything, A vintage jacket, a pencil skirt, new shoes, pearls and lace. The WHOLE outfit is from Savers...ok, not the purse, but the whole outfit yes.

Oh and as promised, I know I have been talking about it for months, I am finally ready for "A Second Look Project" I have been working on it for about a year now and I am so excited to get started!

Anyway, I have to go to bed now and get some much needed rest, to a new day.

Happy Friday everyone!

Shoes: Guess Marshalls, $24.99,Pants: NY&Co Thrifted Savers, $3.50 Jacket: Nordstroms Vintage Thrifted $5, Tank: Marshall's, Necklace: Gifted by my Grandpa
So sorry, once again I have run out of time in my day. Between the weather, Elizabeth Taylor, and the excruciating pain I receive once a month, I am spent folks. On the other hand, I couldn't wait to wear this beautiful electric blue, old vintage Nordstroms Jacket I picked up. I really liked the crest on the pocket as well. The necklace was given to me by my grandpa a long time ago, when I thought gold was tacky. Now I love this gold plated Pesos encrusted goodness. I love my papa, I should have known he had good taste! These pants are also my fav. They were super short when I bought them at Savers so I took them to the Indoor Swap meet here in Vegas and got them lengthened for $5. So that makes the pants total $8.50! Yeah, I can't even walk into NY&Co without spending at least $20...so if you ever find that pants are too short..which I often do..just take them to your local seamstress!

One thing about thrifting you must remember, is that size doesn't matter..isn't that great! and I mean this...whether you are small, big, petite...things have been shrunken...or just made in the 60's when size 6 was a size 12. So if you spot something you love hold on to it and remember that you can hem it or lengthen it!

Ok, I must go to bed now. I promise to do a recap of my 30x30, visit my fellow bloggers, and begin posting on a regular basis. How do you guys find time to do this?!! I have so much respect for all of you out there who are so consistent..I aspire to be you some day, until then, I will be unreliable, non-consistent, and often rambling Shana@ColorBlind. Thank you for tuning in!

Night,

Ok, so this was one of my favorite locations photographer extraordinaire discovered...though...it was the hardest to get around...I almost busted my lip and I kinda destroyed my shoes...but it was worth it we got some great shots! Here are some behind the scenes...haha

I literally jumped out of my shoes I was so excited!

Day 30

The End

Well folks, I am offically done with the challenge...and while I am so excited to wear my other clothes, I am a little sad and perhaps a little scared that I no longer have an excuse if my outifts suck...right>? I mean...before, if it didn't work, I could just blame it on the challenge...now it is just me and my bad style haha ok maybe not.

I want to thank each and everyone of you for taking this journey with me. In 30 days I have learned so many new things about my style, about myself, and about who I want to be perceived as. It is amazing what a change in outfit will do for your confidence and for how others perceive you to be. The more I took risks, the more compliments I recieved, the more confidence I got...and it just kept going!

I mean, getting dressed was actually so much easier because I had all of my picks on one rack, so it was easier to really look at what I was working with, thus making me realize that I have WAAAAY too many clothes, which I then get totally overwhelmed with and end up going right to what I know works and fits...oh that was another thing...we all have clothes in our closet that fit better on some days of the month..ladies you know what I mean, there are clothes that are way too big, too small, or you are just holding on too "just in case"but with this challenge, I knew that everything I picked fit me! Isn't it so disheartening to have things in your closet that are too small..it can literally ruin your whole day!
I have also discovered that I love blogging and I love everyone I have met. I wish I could have one big fat themed party at my house and have everyone over to meet my babies and to show off their fashion..maybe take you to my imaginary thrifting boutique and take pictures! I am definitely going to continue blogging my fashion, fitness,my finds, and my crafts and projects I am working on. I have a special project I am working on that I will begin to feature so stay tuned. Thank you to everyone who has given me motivation to keep going!
To tomorrow and my non-challenge outfit!
I'm out friends.
