The colors are incredible...from the sky to the buildings..I really said...out loud.."I could live here" I know..far from the Sin City lights..but seriously...I LOVE everything about it. I have so many more pics but I shall save them for another time...So many things inspired me while we were there..but this one has to be one of my favorites! I want to re-create this in my formal living room/lounge area...so cool right?

Kick in the Butt Friday: Beat your dreams down!

Top Left: Tanya, Frannie, Dawnya, Me, Edwina
Second Row Left: Jennifer, Meaghan, Little Jasmine, and Lynn

"Some people follow their dreams, others hunt them down and beat them mercilessly into submission."
Neil Kendall

So you are probably wondering what the heck we are doing looking like this! haha My quote for today reminded me of the above. My good friend Lynn and I were sitting in our MBA class and all we could talk about was dance, performing, and how it was accessible to us when we were young. Kids these days no longer have the opportunity to take dance, music NOTHING! so we created a non-profit...easier said than done...but I was part of the American Heart Association and an opportunity to perform came up. So we wrangled friends who were dancers, friends who were non-dancers, and anyone would come and listen to us yell at them for 2 hours about looking creepier or more dead. We perfected Michael's moves and we were good...like really good...haha this was a dress rehearsal so it wasn't perfect but you get the point! check out our dress rehearsal !
The Thrilla Killa's! Michael Jackson had passed away 4 months after the Heart Ball! WE were devastated and then we got a call from Subaru of America asking us to perform for them! So that would be the second picture. Our make up was done professionally and we had an amazing time! So what does this have to with the quote below? Well, I am glad you asked...I wanted to perform..I wanted to make a difference, and I love MICHAEL and well...I had a dream  and it wasn't happening!!! so I literally hunted down an opportunity and MADE IT HAPPEN. I mean...they hired people to perform and I basically said...umm I have dancers! and then I  forced asked my friends to get their dancing shoes and start dancin! haha anyway, please tell me about your dreams, and if you have ever hunted them down! haha Would love to hear from you!

Have a wonderful weekend!

XOXO

III'mmmm Tttthhhirrrttyyyy ooonneeee!!!!

Dress: Savers $6, Hat:Savers $5

That's right folks...I know I know...you were thinking "Oh it's her birthday she must be 25!" haha you are too kind...nope...I'm 31. and let's just say...I am actually feeling really good about it! I had so many friends on facebook send their love and I am so grateful for everyone in my life!  I share this special day with my dad and I love every second of it. We hung out on Saturday with family and friends and Sunday morning I threw myself a "Fancy Hat Brunch" at the Veranda room at the Four Seasons! It was fancy, fabulous and I was so blessed to have all of my family and friends (ladies) with me! More pictures to come, but for now I wanted to share a special letter I got the morning of my birthday from this handsome hubby
{FROM HUBBY}

Happy Birthday Shana!!

31... Yep, you’re a year older. As a kid, we used to clamor for this day, I’m 5! I’m 6! I’m 10!!! Today, it isn’t quite the same feeling, it’s that subtle reminder that life is finite and we’re that much closer to running out of grains of sand.

Well I say we buck those thoughts, throw them right out the window and instead shout from the rooftops, “IIIII’MMMMM .....TTTTHHHHIRRRRRTTTTYYYY.......... OOOOONNNNNEEEEEEE!!!!”

Our birthday’s are a celebration of the past years accomplishments and the possibilities of the coming year yet to be realized. Think of all that you have done this past year. A blog about fashion! Craftiness and refurbishing! Four years of marriage! A trip to Seattle! A trip to Alaska! Staycation! Fitness Workouts Galore! Mary Zambrado! Cynthia Thomas! Alien Girl! A new furry member of the Kilhan family! Sister Nights! Family Fun Cruise! New Kids on the Block! And think of what you’ll do this next year! New adventures! New friends! New films! New cities! New clothes! Old clothes that are new to you!

So, say it proud, say it loud, “I’M THIRTY ONE!”

Love always,
Adam “Your biggest fan” Kilbourn J

{I melted for a second, then I ran downstairs to give him a hug and a kiss, and thank him for being my partner on this journey}

I am a proud 31 year old!! haha

Love you ladies! And don't forget to enter my really small giveaway for my favorite earrings! (before I change my mind! J/k
Ends next Friday! haha oh and tell me which header to use!

XOXO

Why am I doing this giveaway?

Ok, so I am really liking this blogging thing and I am obsessed with trying to figure out html code and creating a unique page. I am far from being done, but I was playing around with the header and was hoping to get everyone's opinion, that's you...I chose the title "ColorBlind" because I feel like I lived 30 years without color, on my walls, my body, my work...I also love these shots of my husband and I that we took for an Anti-Workshop with AltF. On a side note, I love him, his eye, his vision, I was featured on the Today Show Segment “TRASH THE DRESS” BRIDES GET DOWN & DIRTY IN THEIR WEDDING GOWNS" Though he is less on the trashing and more on the art. If you check out his site, you will see me flying! It was an awesome experience! You can can also check out his blog!

Ok back to my header. I need your help in choosing the best one from above(1-6), So here is some incentive, remember these earrings from an old fashion post? ok, so you help me choose a header you get these earrings! How does that sound? This is my first giveaway, but I got so many compliments on the earrings and I thought I would share them and see how you would style them! I also really wanted to hear everyones opinions...real bloggers, I am certainly not a graphic artist, nor do I have photo shop or any shop for that matter! haha So your help is much appreciated!

THANK YOU!

Kick In the Butt Friday!

I am the one on the right side with the big bun!

Ok, so I have been getting these quotes daily from Runners World and they are so inspiring! I often send them to friends and family and now I want to share them with everyone! So, every Friday I will choose my favorite quote of the week and post it...and explain how it may relate to me....but I want to hear from everyone! So tell me how it makes you feel or perhaps how it inspires you in your life!

"Nobody cares if you're not a good dancer. Just get up and dance. The same holds true for racing. Whether first or last, we all cross that same finish line. Just get out there and run."
Dean Karnazes, Ultrarunner and best-selling author

For me it triggered something that I have been struggling with lately. It has been so long since I have taken a dance class or picked up my viola. And I am so scared to. Why? Why am I so scared to do something I loved so much? Is it failure, embarrassment? time? I started dancing at the Royal Academy of Ballet when I was 7. I was actually old...if you can believe it...so I made my way through grades, skipping to get to where the rest of my age group was. I received honors every year, and that is when the pressure started. I loved dancing, and I loved performing...and I knew how happy it made my parents. I look back and wish I could be in that place again, of innocence, having both my mom and dad there supporting me. It was so easy...weight wasn't an issue, aching bones wasn't an issue...being 30 wasn't an issue! haha But I was really good, and more importantly it made me happy, fulfilled, that feeling of satisfaction.

During Torah study this week the Rabbi brought up a point of growth, life, and death. That we should never be content with our relationships and life. I was somewhat confused until he said, that we are like a tree...that is continually growing. He did mention that we should be content with money and any materialistic things, but always look to grow in every other aspect of your life. And when we leave this earth, the only thing that we can hold on to is what we have given, no one can take that away from you... Anyway, Dance, music, arts...that is where I was content..yet I still wanted to grow...but it stopped somewhere between me graduating from high school and my mom getting sick. So here I am...on a Friday..reading this quote..and as Nene would say...BAM...it's not about winning or being first, it's about just doing what you love..because in the end...you will win...

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Pop of color x2

Shirt:Thrifted, Cardigan:NY&Co(Thrifted SAVERS , Pants: Banana Republic(Thrifted SAVERS ), Shoes: BCBG, Purse: Mom's, Belt: Thrifted SAVERS
I'm loving this color lately. It is starting to get a little warmer in Vegas but it is still chilly. I showed up to work in what I thought was such a a"unique color" and my good friend Edwina, who I will be featuring in a future blog about how color changed her life, showed up with this great Kenneth Cole dress we picked up at the thrift store for $10!!! As you can see it is the same "unique color" Doesn't she look fabulous! I loved how she added the belt! That was another part of her transformation, and we all know how much I like belts haha anyway, stay tuned to her before and after...Coming Soon!
