Weekend Update!

This past weekend was another packed weekend for Adam and I. Adam and I had a date night on Saturday and once again I let Adam choose the flick. Now for those of you who do not know Adam he could be the worst judge of movies I have ever seen...well besides my friend Edwina apparently. Anyway, I on the other hand, love movies and well I like to think of myself as a very good judge as well...Moral of the story..DO NOT RENT 88 MINUTES...seriously it is real bad...not to mention, is anyone noticing that the older we get the less we can keep our eyes open during a movie? I mean papa, my dad's dad falls asleep but he's 84!!! Anyway it was bad and I fell asleep, and that was "date night Adam cooked a really good meal though...he has become quite the chef...:O)

Saturday was packed, but the most exciting was John's impromptu wedding and Chris's Cosby Sweater party!

John Petrini a good friend of both and Adam and I got married to a wonderful girl on Saturday at the Little Chapel of the West. I had never been to one of those chapels, We got to throw rice and everything ! It was actually really nice..and I am starting to think Adam and I should have done that...Can you imagine how much money we would have saved!

Saturday night was a Chris's 30th birthday but the best part was that the theme was "The Cosby Sweater Party" Anyway, Everyone was a wearing a sweater some more hideous than most. Edwina went with me to Savers (my favorite store) and scouted some sweaters with me. Boy did we find some good ones...As you can see i went for a more "Claire Hucstable" notice the clip on gold earrings...Edwina's idea! hahaha

My Claire sweater and Adam's Cosby Sweater!
Dawnya and I

Dawnya baked this cake! hahah Baked...like Baker...funny ..
Yeah his sweater was awesome!

Chris is 30! and in that sweater...yep

A little behind...

So for most of you this comes as no surprise...I have been a little behind :O) Over 2 months have gone by and a lot of new things have happened so I will try to update the best I can in the next couple of days. From birthdays, pregnancies, to our new president, I am looking forward to see what "change" is coming and how it will affect my family and my friends.

I recently went to see Tara and Eric in New York and met Alexis for the first time. She is the cutest thing ever and I must say I was sad to leave her. She was ill when we got there and spent most of the night in the hospital, but she was ok and what a great weekend it was. I will post some pics of the wineries we went to as well as the Headless Horseman Halloween Fest which I will most definitely be visiting next year. IT was a great weekend and finished off with a photo shoot, a "secret" photo shoot of Alexis...those pics will come much later! So for now, I must get back to work and school and well the rest of the projects I am up to and promise to return with pics and more stories of how we thought Sophie was pregnant.....

Thought I would keep some of you wanting more...hahaha

Love you all,

Shana Kilbourn

P.S. Don't forget you can access all of our pictures as we upload them on the upper right hand corner of the blog through flickr

Rock'n Roll Wine Tasting!

Rock'n Roll Wine Festival!

So Adam and I joined Chris and Dawnya at our first Rock'n Roll Wine event this year! Aside from the 80% humidity, unconventional clothing or lack there of, and constant chatter between Adam Chris and the wine tasters...we had a great time! The heat was so bad we didn't even want to taste wine, but as the bubbly spritzer and Italian choices kicked in we were well on our way to a memorable...or forgettable evening if you know what I mean :O) There were several bands there but we were really there for the Gin Blossoms..actually let me rephrase that...Dawnya and Adam didn't like them so much but Chris and I were excited! hahaha I was a little disappointed Scott wasn't there...we used to date...ok he called me once...Check out this song!

Addison Road by the Gin Blossoms ! and a few others!

Now don't ask me why, but we recently discovered that Adam is quite the juggler...he put it on his resume but I didn't think it was true...what actor tells the truth! Chris got some wine on his shirt after his third spill and after we convinced him it would stain he decided to jump in the water...with his clothes :O)
Dawnya wasn't bad at the juggling at all!

After we realized that we had had way to much wine we decided to grab some breakfast!

For those of you who know me you know my love for Tabasco...and this pretty much summed up the night!

Losing someone you love...

While I am in the midst of updating pictures, I wanted to dedicate this post to a very close friend of mine. She lost someone special this weekend and if anyone knows how that feels it's me. I struggle everyday living without that someone. You never know what to say when someone passes, shock and confusion suddenly fills every thought. My only advice is to just "be." Talk about the incredible times that made you laugh so much you cried...fill your days with family and pictures, and friends. Cry, laugh....

When I lost my mother last year I was told something that I continually remind myself when I find that the day gets too hard to get through. It was our Rabbi who said, everyone was put on this earth to do something, a mission or simply to change someones life, everyone has a purpose. Though we don't understand why these people leave us, it is the understanding that when these special people leave us their work here is complete. I will never understand, but I found it easier to forgive, though selfish I want her to be here when I get excited about my puppies, or share memories with my children, I know that everything is going to be OK and she is watching over me sharing in all of these memories to come.

To my special friend:
Always remember her, and honor her memory by keeping her memory alive. Share stories with friends, family, and know that you have so many people that love you.

Sophie and Samson Turn 1!!

Sophie and Samson turned 1...I can't believe they have grown so much in just one year. Though we don' t have children I must say both Adam and I have learned quite a bit from these guys. I can say that our communication has improved, my constant overprotective behavior has taken its toll but I am not sure what it would be like without them. They are just good dogs and we love them dearly. I will post some pictures of them as I get time. But here are just a few.

Little Jennifer "JEW" Junior

We have certainly grown up from the days of socks to our knees and baggy bugs bunny shirts!

So, Jennifer doesn't know about this blog yet, but when she finds out she will surely kill me. One of my longest and best friends Jennifer "Shmennifer" Wikler is having a little girl. So I know most of you are probably thinking "We have had kids for years" but for our crew it is all a little new. We have been there for each other always. From our happiest moments to our lowest...
I love her dearly and am still in shock that she is having a baby...a girl for that matter...I am so excited for her and her hubby Eric!! So the other day Jennifer called me and told me that she officially popped ( meaning little Jenn. Junior has gotten a little big for the seven jeans). So we went over to the Motherhood store with our friend Kristin to take a look at some of the clothing. I am not that old, but they really have some of the nicest maternity clothes. I was thinking about getting some to wear in those times where you can't squeeze into your jeans :o)

These were some of the pants she got. The work pants are awesome!Hahaha we had a little fun with the belly pillows :O)

The store was a success and I am afraid maybe too much of a success...

Congrats Jennifer on the shopping and the baby :O)

What a great trip this was. Grandma Alda so graciously hosted Thankgiving a couple of years ago and we had a blast!

The best part was when we got to play her pedal piano... They are quite the experts. Take a look!

2 Years together!

Maui 2005
The Proposal
Adam and I just celebrated our 2nd Wedding Anniversary. I can't believe it has been 2 years! I will share some pics over the last 2 years, I know Adam's mom and grandma will appreciate it. They have been waiting patiently and I have just not had the time... These are just some pics!

This was a poem I wrote for Our first Valentines Day!

Adam
Here’s an attempt at a poem, our very first,
There is so much to say, you might build up a thirst.
Let’s take it back….allllll the way back,
It was September 5th, and shish kabobs were the attack.
There I was, in total disarray,
When Adam flew in, and saved the day.
We laughed and we talked, I knew there was a connection,
And with a toss in the pool, perhaps there was some affection.
I impersonated Sean Connery, and I might add, there was some laughter
Schtarrrrrrbucks, was the intro, and thank you for sharing the veloceraptor.
If that wasn’t enough, we went to my favorite place.
The Crown & Anchor, some beer, and that hot little face.
Again, we talked, and intrigued was I,
That for the next 3 months would fly right by.
Alaska, the Kilbourn’s..it happened so fast,
I knew after meeting your family that this was going to last.
Your mother is incredible, I see her in you,
Your father is certainly amazing, and funny too.
Your brother, quite the intellect, and a goof ball at best,
There are so many, I can’t wait to meet the rest.
When reality hit, and I went back home,
Sasha was waiting, yet I was not alone.
You were in my heart, and I knew this feeling was rare,
And I am still laughing at the time you told me you HUNT BEAR.
Hawaii was my gift, another adventure I couldn’t wait,
Not only did I go with my best friend, but every night I had a date.
Maui, in February, words can not explain,
From Mt. Haleakala, The Sunset, or Hanna’s Rough Terrain
I am still in shock, that I have you, in my life,
For I want, nothing more, than to be Adam Kilbourn’s wife.
You have truly made me, the happiest woman on earth,
And I don’ think you understand what that is really worth.
I know I am 25, but I feel like life has just begun,
Who knew, that I could find that very special one.
The one who knows when I’m feeling down,
Or leaves that space for me to play around.
I can’t wait to share my life, and learn your ins and outs,
Since September 5 2004 I’ve never had any doubts.
I am yours, and you are mine,
Would you Adam Kilbourn,
Be My Valentine?
I LOVE YOU
Shana “Head Over Heels” Dahan

Unpublished...

Well Hello, I am finally publishing the blog. Most of you know I have spent the past months putting our high school reunion together with close friends and have recently discovered the "blog world" through friends from high school. It is definitely enough to make you wanna pass judgement and wonder how everyone has time to keep these things updated, seeing as I just uploaded our wedding photos about 2 weeks ago. I was married September 10, 2006...yeah..I know. And we wonder why everyone isn't getting any work done!

Regardless, our family has been on somewhat of a journey these past few years and I guess I find myself ready to talk...vent...and just clear my head. I recently spoke with a close friend of mine about life, and we both came to the conclusion that in order to be truly happy you have to be alone...or was it that in order to be happy you had to go through really bad things and wake up and realize that all you have are those things that make you so unhappy... I miss my friends, my family, I miss my mom.

This blog will really be a way to let everyone know how we are doing, remembering my mother with stories and laughs, and lots of pictures for my Alaska Mom and Dad and Grandma! I am so busy and I know how much they want to see pictures and hear how our life here in LV is...I thought what a better way to share then to blog..thus I have entered the world..alongside good friends, skeptics, and the rest who just have nothing better to do :O)

Love you all,

Shana "ready for 2009" Kilbourn (Dahan--- I just can't let go of the name :O)
